Author: Impala Bob I installed a set of our re-chromed bumpers on my own 1968 Impala convertible. They are beautiful, and I am proud to have them on my street car that I drive regularly. I would rate them "Very good". While they are not top custom show chrome by today's standards, neither was the OEM production chrome GM used when these cars were built new. The quality of the chrome is about the same as Chevrolet factory original, and on par with the new reproduction Chevy bumpers that we have available for some Impala years. Remember, Chevrolet was building good quality, but mass-produced, street driven cars on an assembly line, not hand built, custom show cars that ride to the shows in enclosed trailers. With that in mind, our standard re-chromed bumpers are appropriate for almost all restored cars, and are a great value for the price. If you are building a true show car, and your project demands bumpers that are nicer than factory original, Impala Bob's is able to provide custom show chrome services on your supplied bumpers for double the price of our OEM quality re-chromed bumpers.
